Top takeaways from a U.S. national task force

Three enduring findings came out of the comprehensive review of the youth online risk research done by the Internet Safety & Technical Task Force of 2008. The task force, which convened at Harvard University's Berkman Center and was called for by 49 state attorneys general, found that not all youth are equally at risk online, the most common risk young people face online is harassment, and a child's psychosocial makeup and home and school environments are better predictors of online risk than any technology a child uses.
